Jeremy Pickworth
Chairman of HartLaw LLP
Jeremy graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge in 1978 and qualified as a solicitor in 1981. He joined Hartlaw in 1982 as Head of the Litigation Department, became a Partner in 1984 and is now the Chairman of HartLaw LLP. Jeremy is a member of the Personal Injury Panel, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association and the Equine & Animals Lawyers Association. His work includes dealing with civil and commercial litigation matters, employment and personal injury. Jeremy is married with four children. He enjoys spending time with his children, cars and music (but not necessarily in that order!)
Rebecca Smith
Partner
Rebecca graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 1998. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor in May 2004 she worked as a Judge’s Clerk at the Principal Registry for the Family Division in London. She joined Hartlaw in September 2006 and specializes in commercial litigation and insolvency matters. Rebecca holds a Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency. She enjoys most outdoor activities including trekking with her husband and taking long walks with the dog. She also enjoys shopping, going to the gym and gardening.

Kate Robinson
Kate graduated from Keele University with a degree in Law and Politics in 2005 before completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, York in 2006 with Commendation. Kate joined us as a Conveyancing Paralegal in 2006 and has since completed her Training Contract. Kate qualified as a solicitor in January 2010 and now undertakes a range of family cases, property transactions and civil litigation work. Kate enjoys horse riding and swimming and motor bikes.

Daniel Lumb
Partner and Head of Department
Daniel joined Hartlaw in 2007 after 5 years at Lupton Fawcett LLP, Leeds and became a partner in 2008. He became Head of Department in 2009 following the retirement of Stephen Hepworth.
He deals with all aspects of Private Client work and specialises in Trusts and Tax Planning.

Stephen McNally
Solicitor
Stephen qualified as a solicitor in 1978, joining Hartlaw in 2000. Stephen also specializes in probate matters, trusts and capital taxes and inheritance tax planning and the drafting of complex wills. He is member of STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners). In his spare time he enjoys anything computer related, reading, classical music, and is a football fan.

Neil Fieldhouse
Legal Executive
Neil qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1993 and joined the firm in 1999. Neil's duties include dealing with the
administration of estates, enduring powers of attorney and receiverships. He enjoys foreign travel (particularly in Italy), classical music concerts and
gardening.

Brian Henderson
Probate Executive
Brian has 37 years of experience in his field, joining Hartlaw in 2007. Brian specialises in Wills, Probates and Intesacies, Inheritance Tax Planning, Court of Protection and Receiverships.
He enjoys snooker and watching football. Brian has also formed his own brass band, through which he has recieved an award for services to the Brass Band Movement.

Chris Walton 
Chris graduated from the University of Leeds in 2002 with a history degree, and completed the graduate diploma in law and legal practice course at BPP Law School in Leeds. He joined HartLaw LLP as a trainee solicitor in July 2008. Prior to his legal training he worked for a Leeds-based management consultancy. In late 2005 Chris wrote a book, Castleford: Life in League One, about Castleford Tigers Rugby League club. Chris is a keen photographer, cook, and enjoys walking and wildlife.

Matt Seldon
Partner and Head of Department
Matt graduated from Hallam University , Sheffield , in 1997. Matt has spent time working for the Black Sheep Brewery and as an electrician before joining Hartlaw as a trainee solicitor in December 2000. Matt became a Partner in April 2005 and Head of Department in 2009.
His work includes dealing with business sales and purchases, business start-ups and commercial property.
Matt enjoys skiing, football and anything and everything to do with cars.

Nick Dyson
Partner
Nick graduated from Hull University in 1969 and qualified as a Solicitor in 1972, being admitted by no less a figure than Lord Denning! He joined the firm in 1972 and became a Partner in 1974. Nick was enrolled as a Notary by the then Archbishop of Canterbury in 1980. He is “Speaker Finder” for the Wetherby and District Rotary Club and has been Secretary of Wetherby Business Association (commonly known as Wetherby Chamber of Trade and Commerce) since 1973. Nick is a local conciliation officer and negligence panelist for the Solicitors Complaints Service (which means he investigates complaints of poor service or negligence against other solicitors). Nick is married with a daughter and enjoys reading and tennis.

Marie Storey
Member
Marie graduated from Hull University 1978 and joined the firm in 1979. She qualified as a solicitor in May 1981 and became a Partner in 1984. Marie was a founder member of the Yorkshire Group of Women Solicitors in the early 1980's. She specialises in all aspects of Commercial Property including sales and purchases, land acquisition, property development and buying and selling farms or agricultural land. Marie is married with two teenage children and two dogs! In her spare time she enjoys yoga, walking, skiing, reading and dancing.

Philip Brown
Partner
Philip graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1999 and completed his legal qualifications at the College of Law in York. He joined Hartlaw as a trainee in 2003 and qualified as a solicitor in 2005. Philip’s work includes commercial and residential property, general business matters and licensing.

Amanda qualified as a Legal Executive in 1989 and joined Hartlaw in 1996. She deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including high-value and complex sales and purchases.

Dianne Burke
Partner and Head of Department
Dianne graduated from the University of Wales in 1996 and qualified as a solicitor in 1999. She worked as an assistant solicitor in the family law department of a busy firm in Chelmsford, Essex before joining Hartlaw in August 2002 as Head of the Family Law department, becoming a Partner in April 2004. Dianne was appointed a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel in 2002. She deals with cases involving financial disputes following relationship breakdown, including disputes concerning pensions and family businesses, as well as complex private law Children Act cases. Dianne is married with 2 young sons and enjoys the theatre, eating out and spending time with her family.

Kirsty Tighe 
Legal Executive
Kirsty is an experienced family lawyer having over 10 years specialist experience. She joined HartLaw in the Spring of 2008. She is a member of Resolution (formerly Solicitors Family Law Association) and handles all divorce, ancillary relief, and children act matters.
Kirsty combines her busy career with a keen interest in all equine pursuits. She has her own horses whom she competes locally. When time permits Kirsty enjoys skiing and golf.
