About Suzgo

Suzgo graduated in Law from Durham University in 2006 and qualified as a solicitor in 2009. He grew up in Malawi, the warm heart of Africa, and made Yorkshire his home in 2007 after graduating from the College of Law (York) (as it then was).

He joined the Private Client team at Hartlaw in 2016 and his expertise covers all aspects of estate administration, trusts, inheritance tax planning, Wills, powers of attorney and Court of Protection applications.

Outside of work, Suzgo enjoys spending time with his wife and his young son, playing tennis and squash.

What is important to him: “My focus is to get to know my clients, understand what their objectives are and help them achieve those objectives in an efficient, clear and cost-effective manner”

Three words to describe Suzgo: Approachable, reliable and conscientious

Power of Attorney Refunds

The Office of the Public Guardian (the body sponsored by the Ministry of Justice who have responsibility for registration of Powers of Attorney) have announced that they have overcharged for the registration of Powers of Attorney between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2017. This is because their operating costs reduced, but their fees did not. Accordingly, a refund can be claimed from 2nd February.
