About Claire

Claire obtained a degree in Law and Business from Sheffield Hallam University before studying her Legal Practice Course at The College of Law in York.  She completed her legal training at a firm in Harrogate, qualifying in July 2013, and joined Hartlaw at the start of 2016.

Claire has worked in dispute resolution for in excess of 7 years and advises clients in relation to a range of civil litigation and employment matters; including landlord and tenant proceedings, boundary disputes, settlement agreements and contractual disputes.

Claire grew up in Wetherby and worked at Wetherby Leisure Centre for a number of years.  Outside of work she is a keen skier and scuba-diver, a long-term supporter of Leeds Rhinos and assists in the running of a local Brownie Guide unit.

What's important to her: I consider a key part of my role is guiding and assisting clients through all types of litigation, to alleviate what can often be a very stressful and overwhelming process.

Three words to describe Claire: Approachable, reliable, conscientious

Power of Attorney Refunds

The Office of the Public Guardian (the body sponsored by the Ministry of Justice who have responsibility for registration of Powers of Attorney) have announced that they have overcharged for the registration of Powers of Attorney between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2017. This is because their operating costs reduced, but their fees did not. Accordingly, a refund can be claimed from 2nd February.
