Proud members of the Dementia Action Alliance in Leeds
Dementia Action Alliance is the alliance for organisations across England to connect, share best practice and take action on dementia.

Members include leading charities, hospitals, social care providers, Government bodies, pharmaceuticals, royal colleges, and wellbeing organisations. Everything is done in partnership, and informed by people living with dementia, and their carers.

Hartlaw LLP are very committed to making this firm a Dementia Friendly environment and are now running several Dementia Friends training sessions to ensure all our staff across our departments at Hartlaw have awareness of dementia. This will enable us to provide services tailored to those clients’ needs.

Jeremy Pickworth, Head of the Private Client Department, commented “We are proud to help support Dementia Action Alliance, and to provide our clients with the understanding needed in this often misunderstood area.”

Power of Attorney Refunds

The Office of the Public Guardian (the body sponsored by the Ministry of Justice who have responsibility for registration of Powers of Attorney) have announced that they have overcharged for the registration of Powers of Attorney between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2017. This is because their operating costs reduced, but their fees did not. Accordingly, a refund can be claimed from 2nd February.
